Overview

Eskom, South Africa’s leading power utility, invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for 10 Learner Hospitality positions based at the Eskom Academy of Learning in Midrand. These 24-month fixed-term roles will provide exposure and practical experience in catering, hospitality management, and kitchen operations under the supervision of the Executive Chef.

This opportunity is ideal for hospitality graduates seeking to gain structured industry experience within a professional and high-standard training environment.

Key Responsibilities

–Prepare and produce food to the required quality and presentation standards.

–Control stock levels and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.

–Perform administrative duties and implement ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) standards.

-Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professionalism at all times.

-Ensure strict adherence to health, hygiene, and safety regulations.

-Support operational efficiency in all kitchen and dining areas.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

National Diploma / National N Diploma in Catering Management, Hospitality and Catering Services, or Hotel School Qualification at NQF Level 6 (240 credits).

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in all kitchen departments (including food preparation, service, and stock control).

Competencies & Attributes

Strong organisational and time management skills.
Teamwork and effective communication.
Customer service orientation and attention to detail.
Familiarity with health and safety protocols.
Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
